Fastest 8000 Runs - AB de Villiers breaks World Record

AB de Villiers smashes fastest 8000 runs and leads the chart of world record scoring in the ODI match against New Zealand on 26th August, 2015. Saurav Ganguly slipped to 2nd and followed by Sachin Tendulkar on 3rd position. Following a long await of 13 years, Sourav Ganguly's record of being the fastest to achieve 8000 runs in one-day international (ODI) cricket has been broken by the ever smashing AB de Villiers, the South African (Proteas) legend today. The South African batsman took 182 innings to achieve the milestone though Ganguly belted the same numbers in 200 innings.

In the match against New Zealand, De Villiers played a vital innings to give an in number stage to the Proteas, who completed at 283 for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs.
